Applying for an I-20 Certificate of Eligibility
To obtain a student VISA (F1) from the U.S. government, you must first apply to GST Language Center for an I-20 Certificate of Eligibility which verifies that you will be attending school in the United States. Please note that you MUST enroll in GSTLC’s Intensive English Program (IEP) in order to qualify for an I-20 Certificate of Eligibility.

1. Required Documents to apply for a I-20 Certificate of Eligibility,
please send us the following:
● Application for admission Forms
● An official transcript
● A copy of diploma
● A birth certificate
● A copy of the Student’s passport
● Two (2) recently taken passport photos
● Declaration of financial support
● Bank balance evidence
● Non-refundable Application Fee $ 125.00
● Non-refundable other processing Fee (Include Mailing fee) $ 75.00

*Students applying for a student visa MUST enroll in GSTLC’s Intensive English Program to satisfy the U.S. requirement that all students holding a student visa be enrolled in a minimum of 20 hours of coursework per week.
Please pay the following:
Pay non-refundable Application fee of $125 and other processing fee of $75.
Total Payment: $200
If for any reason, you are denied a student visa by the United States Consulate or Embassy,
the registration fee and other fee(Total $200) are non-refundable.
4. Evidence of Financial Support
You must prove to GST Language Center and the U.S. consul that you are financially qualified for a student visa. With the enrollment form and payment, please submit notarized documentation to prove financial support of at least $25,000. Submit copies of these documents to GST Language Center, and keep the originals for your visa interview at the American Embassy.
A bank Balance which shows the current balance in terms of U.S. dollars. The bank Balance must include account holder’s name, the date the account was opened, and the average daily balance.
If the sponsor is a company or private organization: The representative of the company or private organization must prepare a document on the company’s or private organization’s letterhead stating that it will be financially responsible for your full tuition and living expenses (at least $25,000 for one year) for the duration of your studies at GST Language Center.
A letter from the sponsor’s employer, which states the yearly salary and whether the position is permanent or temporary.
An affidavit of support letter from the sponsor, promising to support your during your studies at GST Language Center. Include specific dollar amount (at least $25,000 for one year).
If your sponsor is not living in the United States, you should prepare a letter stating the following information:
- The complete name and address of the sponsor.
- The relationship of the sponsor to student.
- The manner in which the sponsor will be responsible for you.
